The Oakville Chardonnay has garnered many fans far and wide. We are always tickled by the glowing reviews of this wine and are so happy that Betty asked to have Chardonnay planted at the Oakville estate. Winemaker Sean Capiaux planted this vineyard with close spacing and low yields in mind and selected four different clones to work with to maximize complexity from this special location. We believe it to be one of the last Chardonnay vineyards in Oakville. Our 2020 Chardonnay was fermented and sur lie aged for 11 months in 26% new French oak barrels, 39% neutral oak, 26% concrete tanks, and 9% stainless steel barrels. The resulting wine has a radiant yellow color with a green hue. Tropical aromas of mangos and ripe red apple followed marshmallow cream, light honey and vanilla. Juicy flavors in the mouth of pineapple juice, cotton candy and jolly rancher with a bright acidity that flows into rich and long persistent finish, making this a refreshingly complex and memorable wine.
