Our Children's Garden Sauvignon Blanc is named for the half acre block where Betty and Paul's grandchildren once tended to a lovely garden. In time this was replaced to a special block of Sauvignon Blanc in their honor. This wine is a Spring favorite and a wine that is only sold here at the winery. This year we changed our fermentation protocol slightly and fermented this wine in a combination of 67% concrete, 27% new French oak barrels, and 6% stainless steel barrels. The additional new oak has added another dimension of richness and depth to the wine. The wine was left on its lees and aged for eleven months. The resulting wine has a vibrant appearance with a pale-yellow color. Notes of summer melon, white peach and lemon pastry leap from the glass and are complimented by flavors of Meyer lemon and orange zest. This wine is broad on the palate and has a long refreshing finish.
